Scott Fielder, Interim Pastor

Scott FielderScott grew up in Anaheim, CA and lived in California all his life through college.  He attended Orange Coast Community College and transferred to California Lutheran University.  Scott discovered his love for leadership in ministry while working for Lutheran Retreats, Camps and Conferences as a camp counselor and also conveniently met his future wife, Nikki, at the camp as well.  They began dating when he was transferred to CLU and both attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN where they got their Masters of Divinity.

Scott and Nikki got married in 2010 and it has been an amazing journey!  Scott recently served as Camp Director and Pastor at Lutheran Retreats, Camps and Conferences.  He loves to play games and listen to podcasts during my free time.  He also loves sports, specifically the Angels and LA Lakers.  “I love to help people, discover their callings in life, and how God is working in their lives to use the gifts they have been given.”  email

Sam Manual, Youth Pastor

Sam was born in India but raised in St. Louis Mo, when his parents relocated there in 1976.  Growing up in a christian home Sam felt the pull to serve in ministry at a young age.  He started volunteering at camp and youth group which lead him to attend a bible college after high school. He eventually received a Master’s degree in education from Columbia International University. Sam served his first church in Greensboro NC.  He served a few churches for the following 10 years and made the move to California to pursue his passion for comedy.  Sam worked for a few years in some of our local group homes for foster children and felt called to return to the church to serve. When not working with youth Sam enjoys doing improv and comedy, boardgaming, playing guitar, and sports.  email

Jake Newton, Worship Team

Creativity is one of the core values at Bethel. Our incredible worship team is one of the places that core value is clearly lived out. Bethel’s worship team is filled with some of Los Angeles’ most amazing and creative musicians.  Jake Newton, singer songwriter, actor, and producer, leads our amazing worship team each Sunday. There are many other incredible musicians that together create Bethel’s music. We love to incorporate all types of music, including many originals. We recognize that God speaks through many forms and we find the sacred in many surprising places. Alongside our worship team we have a new arts team that is always looking for new creative ways to experience the Divine through co-creating alongside the Creator.
